Ubitrail is a versatile and robust open-source behavioural tracking system aimed at quantifying 2D locomotion in insects. The software uses a dynamic learning algorithm to gather information about the animals being tracked and improve its performance during the experiment.
Its key features are:
Processing from video files (real-time processing [e.g. from live webcam feed] is not currently supported)
Analyse multiple areas simultaneously (one animal per area)
Input of user-defined mask allows an unlimited number of experimental setups to be defined
Automatic recognition of circular areas, and subdivision of areas within territories
